Hi,

Steve, sorry that you couldn't make it! Hope to see you next time.

Sherry, it was great having you and Fiona there. I hope we were not running too late for you. Maybe next time I can find something a bit shorter?

Josh, THANK YOU. THANK YOU! :ccry: Your place is amazing, and your hospitality is even more so. I hope you had as great a time as I did!

Thanks to everyone who showed up. I'd like to do another one before I leave in June. Join us again! :D

Kat

P.S. For those who'd like to check out the script for tonight's movie: http://screenplayexplorer.com/wp-conten ... e-Days.pdf
For the reviews: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/next_three_days/

The expressions we talked about tonight:

1. To drive a wedge between (two people) - to turn one person against another.
2. To make a crack about - to make fun of someone or something, or say something sarcastic or insulting.
3. Someone "has got it all figured out" - to know how to work things (or the system) to achieve certain aims; to have found the secrets, the keys, or the answers to the big questions or things in life.
4. You are really a gem - When said sarcastically, it means you are unbelievably stupid, or bad, or weird.

Did I miss anything?

Oh no! I forgot to take some pictures!!! :ccry:

Combining a party and a lesson together, what a lovely idea.

Thank you, Josh and Kat.

wedge: a piece of wood, metal etc that has one thick edge and one pointed edge and is used especially for keeping a door open or for splitting wood (quoted from a Longman dictionary)

The photos of a wedge:
1. to keep a door open: http://www.google.com.tw/imgres?imgurl= ... 66&bih=572
2. to split wood: http://www.google.com.tw/imgres?imgurl= ... vns&itbs=1

Another expression that has a similar meaning as "to drive a wedge between somebody" is "to alienate a person from someone."
Ex: His second wife was determined to alienate him from his two boys.
