Anyone up for this (as a Yoyo outing)?
Re: Anyone up for this (as a Yoyo outing)?
The free concert got me thinking about all sorts of idioms that have their origin in music or sound.
Here are some must-learns!
ring a bell (Kat: some of you should know this one cold by now! )
to chime in
to jazz something up
to play by ear
fine-tuning
to drum (something) into someone's head
to blow the whistle
like a broken record
*Again, find examples on how to use the idioms in your English (to English) dictionary, or "Google News" them. The more examples, the more well-rounded your understanding. Idioms are fun and lively (and absolutely necessary!) but can also be tricky sometimes.
