3/1(Sat.) A Time for Everything (Host:Linda Jr.)
Hi YoYos, this is Linda Jr. How are you guys doing? For everything there is a season. The new science of chronobiology tells us the best time of day to do everything, from writing a poem to taking pills. By following your body’s natural daily rhythms, you can get more out of every day.
Session I
MORNING
7 a.m.-9.00 Have a good breakfast. The metabolism is most active in the morning, and everything that you eat at this time gives you energy but doesn’t make you put on weight. For the same reason, it’s also the best time of day to take Vitamins. If you take them before bedtime, some vitamins can keep you awake and others can cause indigestion.
9-10.00 Go to doctor’s or dentist’s. Injections are least painful at this time of day. It is also the best time of day to do weight-training or heavy physical activity. The back and neck muscles are strongest now and less susceptible to injury.
10-12.00 Work, study, paint a picture, or write a poem. The brain is at its most creative at this time of day.
12-200 p.m. Eat, This is the best time to have lunch, as the digestive system works very efficiently at this time. You should have your big meal now and not in the evening.
AFTERNOON
2-3.00 Have a siesta. After lunch, the body temperature goes down and the brain works more slowly. Research also shows that there is an increase in road accidents at this time of day because drivers fall asleep at the wheel. Research in Greece shows that men who have a siesta are the least likely to suffer heart attacks.
3-5.00 Go to the gym. Physically our bodies are at their daily peak. Body temperature, strength, and flexibility are at their highest, and most Olympic records are broken at this time of day.
4-6.00 Do homework. Research shows that children are faster at doing arithmetic at this time of day.
Questions for Discussion:
1.What time is the best time to eat and take vitamins? What food that you eat gives you energy but doesn’t make you fat? When is the best time for physical-training activities?
2.If a driver falls asleep at the wheel, what should he (she) do after lunch? Why most Olympic records are broken between 3-5pm? When is the best time for children to do arithmetic?
3.Quiz: If you catch a cold, you should have a cup of corn soup or a glass of apple juice?

Session II
EVENING
6-8.00 Eat, drink and enjoy yourself. Although our digestive system works more slowly in the evening, the senses of smell, taste, and hearing are at their best from about 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., so now is the time for a light but delicious dinner in good company. The liver is also at its most efficient in dealing with alcohol, so open a bottle of wine! If you’re not going out, spend the evening looking yourself. Put on face and body cream, as the skin absorbs them best at this time of day.
8-10.00 Phone friends. This is the time when people most often feel lonely (and it’s also cheaper to phone in most parts of the world!)
10-11.00 Get ready for bed. One of the best ways to make sure you get a good night’s sleep is to have a warm bath. This relaxes both your mind and your body.
NIGHT
11pm.-7a.m. Sleep. After 11 o’clock, the metabolism slows down, and body temperature and adrenaline levels drop, preparing us for sleep. If we stay awake after midnight, our attention drops dramatically and even the most careful people often make mistakes. Accidents increase by six times between 3 a.m. and 4 a m.

1.When is the best time to have a light but delicious dinner? Why? When is the best time to put on cream?
2.When is the best time to phone friends? When is the best time for bed? How many times accidents increase during mid-night if people do not sleep?
3.Quiz: When the flu is prevailing, will those who have a cold and wear a mask or those who are healthy and wear a mask be effectively isolated from the virus?

A: Since the corn soup has a higher level of Glycemic Index than apple juice, which means we can absorb that food faster than apple juice after we eat it, it is recommended to have a cup of corn soup when you do not feel well.
Session II:
Quiz: When the flu is prevailing,will those have a cold and wear a mask or those who are healthy and wear a mask be effectively isolated from the virus?
A: Research shows that the flu virus is so small that it can get through the hole of a mask. If a person catches a cold and sneezes, the virus can still go through the mask. However, if a healthy person wears a mask when the flu is prevailing, it will form a protection zone inside of the mask b/c of the breathing, and it will protect you from getting a cold effectively.

The earliest frozen drink I remember was 7-11's Slurpee; they use the term "frozen drink" on their official website.
According to Wikipedia, its full name should be "frozen carbonated beverage", the history of which can be traced back to the 50s, but licensed first by 7-11:
"A frozen carbonated beverage (FCB) is a mixture of flavored sugar syrup, carbon dioxide, and water that is frozen by a custom machine creating a drink comprised of a fine slush of suspended ice crystals, with very little liquid. Some common FCBs are the Slurpee, the ICEE, and the Froster."
"The FCB machine was invented by Omar Knedlik, then the owner of a Dairy Queen franchise. In the late 1950s, his restaurant lacked a soda fountain. Instead, he stored soda in his freezer.
