This is Miller, the host of the coming meeting on 10/14.
In this meeting, we would like to discuss a topic related to everyone's daily life.
If you are interested in what matters to our life and environment, welcome to discuss it with us.
The fast fashion industry is characterised by both overproduction and overconsumption. The sector is harmful to the environment, requiring enormous quantities of natural resources and creating substantial waste. Policy-makers could promote a more circular economy to reduce the damage.
The environmental impact of fast Fashion includes the following:
1. Fast fashion is responsible for up to 10% of global carbon emissions and significant water consumption.
2. Synthetic materials used release microplastics, contributing to pollution in oceans and waterways.
3. The industry creates massive textile waste, as clothes are often worn only a few times before being discarded.
4. By constantly cycling new styles, fast fashion encourages a culture of overconsumption, with low-quality goods replaced quickly regardless of actual need.
5. Marketing tactics fuel impulsive buying, leading to increased waste and environmental strain
6. Toxic chemicals used in dyes and materials can pose health risks to workers and consumers.

Session 1:
Q1. How often do you buy new clothes, and what factors influence these purchases? Have you ever regretted buying a fast fashion item?
Q2. Should brands be held responsible for their waste of clothing? What are some steps companies or governments could take to reduce the negative impact of fast fashion?
Q3. How can consumers make more sustainable fashion choices?
Q4. In what ways can technology help make fashion more sustainable?
Session 2:
Q5. Do you have any other ideas, like fast fashion impacting the earth as well?
Q6. Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and subsequent return to the White House in early 2025 have ignited a battle over ESG principles. President Trump withdrew from the Paris Agreement. As a result, the US and US companies are no longer formally committed to limiting global warming and face fewer regulations related to emissions and environmental standards. Do you still believe that we can tackle global warming? Why or why not?

"NATURE MAKES THINGS TO DECOMPOSE THAT IS NOT THE SAME WITH SYNTHETIC MATERIAL. SO IF IT IS MADE IN LAB IT IS NOT GOING TO DECOMPOSE"
"Patagonia uses a wide variety of materials, with the majority of its products incorporating recycled content such as recycled polyester, nylon, cotton, down, and wool. "
at first i didn't think the topic was interesting, then, being a sceptic i found it quite interesting.
