11/22 (Sat) Making a public speech (Host: Ronald)

文章 Tina Sun »

Hi Yoyo folks,

We have been through many great topics in our gatherings, Some of which are really cool, some are interesting, and some of the rest are quite “educational.” This coming weekend I would like to bring you to the very basic and fundamental purpose about why we are here—How to make a good public speech, especially, in English.

There are a lot of tips for helping you become a good speaker in the websites. I collect some, as follows, for your reference. I hope they may fit your needs, whatsoever.

Questions for discussion

Session 1
Q1: Are you afraid of public speaking? If yes, what drives you nervous or anxious? If No, please tell us how you conquer the fears.

Q2: Does speaking English in public make you more fearful? What else preparation work you might need to do if compared with speaking in Manderin?

Q3: Does joining Yoyo English Club help you improve your public English speaking skills? What would you advise to the Club?

Session 2
Q4: Do any of the website tips enlighten you on improving the public speech? Please share your comments with your teammates.

Q5: Do you admire Steve Jobs’ presentation and consider him your role model of public speaking? Share with us your comments.

Q6: From the website I attached you can find a very funny speech by a Chinese correspondent. He is not an English native speaker, but his speech impressed all the audience of the dinner party. Does this video clip give you any idea or thoughts?

Enjoy our gathering!! Have a nice weekend!
