Q1: When you shop things, for example a toothbrush, what is your top priority to buy the toothbrush that you want?
Q2: Do you feel exhaust just like the author, give up after spending so much time when you want to make a decision? Give an example.
Q3: In Taiwan, we only have one health insurance (except private insurance), would you prefer to have more choices on heath insurance?
Q4: We have so many choices to choose from now these days, would you prefer maybe less choices for us, we would have more time to spend on something else?

1. Throughout your childhood/adulthood, is there any moment that would make you feel privileged and superior to others? how did you feel?
2. Interacting with people from different cultures can bring you a reflection on the definition of privilege. Have you ever noticed what can be done in your daily life might be a taboo in other cultures/ countries?
3. How do you see those people who have more privileges than you at work environment/ in your school? how do you normally respond to those dominant groups?
4. Do you think there's any correlation between privilege and confidence? what are the inborn merits and postnatal environment that can affect someone's sense of privilege and confidence?

Great topics!
Having too many choices is frustrating! When we pick one from numerous choices, we will spend a lot of time thinking about “what if we chose the others?” The hypothetical answers would consume all our energy, and that makes us unsatisfied and unhappy. And, it is very true, too many choices make things inefficient. For example, when we are given more options for our retirement investment account, we tend to put off the decision more and longer.
I am not sure there is any easy solution. We probably all sense that “Choice Overload” and “Information Overload” make us less effective, but just like democratic system, people would rather be inefficient than be effective with little choices. Maybe that is why Amazon still runs very well and when choosing an investment company, we still prefer the ones that offer many options.
Session II: "What is Privilege?" A great video!
We should probably play the same game to know where we stand in this regard. I am sure we take many things for granted and did not realize that we are privilged.
For question 2: I am not clear about the statement - "Interacting with people from different cultures can bring you a reflection on the definition of privilege." Maybe some more explanation and examples will help the discussion. Thanks!
