11/28 (Tue)New careers in social media(Host: Ketty)

文章 Ketty »

Hi Yoyos,

Today I'm going to discuss soft topic about new careers in social media. You just need a smart phone, becoming a superstar is not a dream.

Session I
In this part, we'll focus on the edited videos made by youtuber or vlogger. Let me explain what's the difference between them. Youtuber is the person who has specific purpose to share information to everyone, such as English teaching, book introduction or entertainment and Vlogger(Video Blogger) concentrates on daily life. They all share their videos in public. Here's a list for TOP 10 YouTubers in Taiwan and a sharing from a vlogger.

1/Have you ever seen any youtuber's video? Who is your favorite? Why do you love him/her so much?
2/What kind of trait you think is important for a beloved youtuber or vblogger? Appearance? Sense of Humor?
3/If one day you want to become a youtuber or vblogger, what do you want to share with people?
4/Nowadays, people like to watch video with quick, simple and funny context, like "Overview a movie in 5 minutes" or "Understand one thing in 10 minutes", are these really good for people?

Session II
Thanks to the advance in technology, we can have livestreaming everytime and everywhere by your phone. In the US, 63% of 18-34 year-olds are watching live content and 42% creating it. Not only be famous but also make money from it.

1/What's the advantage and disadvantage on Livestreaming?
2/Why people prefer watching Livestreaming rather than edited video?
3/As I know, what live streamer do is eating, singing ,talking and playing game, nothing special. I really confuse that why people spend time to see Livestreaming, in addition, they pay money to live streamers. A clinical psychologist said "It's an indication of loneliness." what's your comments on the thought of audiences ?
4/A China news said that a 10 years-old boy spent RMB16,000 to buy virtual gifts for a live streamer, another age 16 boy spent RMB100,000. Given that most audiences are teenagers, do you think we need some regulations by law? If yes, how to regulate?
