I am personally a big fan of house renovation reality shows. I may not be able to buy a house at the moment, but it is nothing wrong to dream big!:)

Please enjoy the videos&articles below. Let’s be prepared to share some thoughts and have fun on Dec. 08.

A word of caution, my answer to the dream home is nowhere near dreamy, but is likely to be deemed boring or lack of imagination. The thing is, when it comes to buying an ideal house, I am not romantic at all.

Convenience, little need for maintenance, customization or TLC are my golden rules in selecting a home. Thus, it won’t be a surprise that I prefer an urban compact modern condo to a suburban spacious Victorian single family house with yards or a pool.

Living in city center makes it easy for me to make use of external metropolitan resources instead of finding or remodelling a house with the features in need. With a large forest park nearby, there’s no need to keep large yards, balconies or find an apartment with scenic view. A gym in walking distance makes a built-in workout room or pool redundant. As most stores and institutions - in particular restaurants, markets, clinics, libraries, bookstores, public transportation stations - are in the neighborhood, family life will become super convenient and garage can be done away with.

I would lay out the apartment in a way that robot vacuums can reach most of the floor. Fragmentary corners and spaces are not welcomed considering the fact that they are dust-prone and hard to clean.

All in all, a house that is simple and minimum maintenance caters perfectly to me. Well, I don't blame you if you feel it uninspiring... :disappointed:
