4/23 (Tue.) Shakespeare Day! (Host: Devry)

文章 Devry »

That's right people! April 23rd is Shakespeare Day.

Thus in honor of Shakespeare Day 8) , I invite those who come that day to try their hands on some Shakespeare. We probably couldn't do a whole production with Tuesday's time frame, but we will definitely look at some of his more famous speeches and soliloquies. Do not worry, I am not a professional, and I have not memorized any one of these speeches, neither do I expect you to do it (but if you can do it, then more power to you!). What I do wish to do at the end of our gathering, however, is to do a dramatic reading for these speeches and soliloquies. I hope to do this in a workshop format. We will see if we are able to have people look at two different speeches that day.

Here are a list of the speeches and soliloquies that we would be doing, pick only one. I will be linking you to SparkNotes site for the script and a modern translation. I will also be writing a quick intro here about the soliloquies and speeches. You may go on youtube to see these being acted out.

Henry V - St. Crispian's Day
