“Emotion” is well defined in this phrase, "energy in motion”. It clearly depicts some characteristics: “Emotion” possesses energy or consumes energy, and it is not constant; it’s fleeting.
Most people are busy keeping a roof over their head in their daily life. We tend to be closed off or blowing a fuse regarding our feelings, either way leads to unmanageable states.

There are a few dozens of identified emotions and some different groupings of these emotions. Primary and secondary is one of the categorizing methods.
For me, all this type of analysis accomplishes one great result, which is to promote the importance of self-awareness, and develop feasible methods to bringing the uncontrollable emotions into some amenable states.

If we can recognize and identify our primary (more direct to the people and events) and secondary (evolving from primary or some previous experience) emotions, it may be easier for us to step back and take a deep breath to resolve some anger or uncover and cleanse the negative energy which has been held long and deep in our mind.
