11/27 (Sat.) Part-time Jobs for Fun

Hi, everyone:

Have you ever been in such kinds of dilemma:
you have a long-developed hobby that you enjoy doing very often, but it doesn’t generate enough income to support your family’s living.
Taking it as a part-time job for fun may be the practical way to go.
On one hand, you may show your outstanding performance; on the other hand, you won’t be too poor to go on due to low income. Let’s take a look at some examples of part-time jobs for fun (rather than the part-time jobs merely for earning more money).

1. Dancer
https://news.tvbs.com.tw/local/227611
Have you or has any of your friends been a part-time dancer? If you can dance very well, only dancing in the crowd may not satisfy you. Enjoying being in the spot light dancing should be more exciting than receiving the wage.

2.Swimming Coach
https://www.facebook.com/parttimeuniver ... 237261436/
In the video, the girl won many swimming medals in school. She likes swimming so much that she would like to help more and more children to learn swimming.
Can you see the smile on her face? Obviously, she enjoys the part-time job (not just for making extra money).

3.Author
https://deanlife.blog/writing-to-make-money/
With technology, being an author no longer just means writing books. As shown in the web link, there are so many ways you can demonstrate your writing talent!

4.English Teacher
https://www.facebook.com/GjunEF.0373301 ... 0786539499
Do you know that almost all the English teachers for adults are part-time jobs? Teaching adults in higher levels can be very fun as you may select interesting topics (just like what we do in YOYO), and you can have a lot of interaction with adult students during class. Does this sound tempting to you?

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Session 1: Dynamic types of part-time jobs

A. How do you think of dancer / swimming coach as part-time jobs? Would you enjoy showing your talent without feeling tired? If you or your friends experienced this kind of part-time jobs, please share. Thanks.

B. Singing in a pub is a commonly seen part-time job. How do you think of developing your singing performance for part-time job? Would you support your other half to have such part-time job? (or maybe you would frown?)

C. What are your long-developed sport hobbies? And who in YOYO you know have sport hobbies which are already good enough to become part-time jobs (like coach or street performer)? Would you consider making the hobbies your part-time jobs?

------------------------------------------------------------------

Session 2: Static types of part-time jobs

D. How do you think of author / English teacher as part-time jobs? Would you enjoy them or would you prefer just taking a rest during your free time? Why?

E. If you were a part-time author, what topic might you write articles/books about?
If you were a part-time English teacher who could host activities as English class, what activities would you choose (example: introducing historical spots, playing games, having potluck)?

F. Name some static hobbies that are possible to become part-time jobs (Example: chess, painting, photographing). Which of them might you consider as interesting part-time jobs?

Many thanks for Gavin's preparation for this funny topic. It's also a pity that Gavin cannot come to host because of his new part-time job.

This topic is very conversational and accessible to me ^^

Since the side job is just for fun, we don’t really need to excel at it, or to be more specific, to be good enough to live by it. The side hustle selection then comes down to two factors only: it has to be something that we have strong interests in; and it is a subject that we are slightly more skilled or experienced in than ordinary people.

In my case I would probably choose from the three: English teacher, a podcaster on Korean drama, or a hiking trail guide.

Hi, Kooper:
Hiking trail guide is a wonderful side for you, because you have already accumulated a lot of hike experiences.
Hoping that you can actually take one of the fun side jobs in due course.

Gavin
