3/22(Tue) Eat That Frog (Host: Annie)

文章 Annie Zhang »

Hi everyone,

Have you ever put off an important task by? Do you often find yourself procrastinating? I do! Recently I got inspired by the book called Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy, it uses the words from Mark Twain, he once said that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that it is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long.

Procrastination inevitably impacts the quality of the performance and overall well being. Welcome to join the meeting and we will discuss how to be more efficient, and get more free time to do the things you really matter.

Session I.
Q1. The article said "Procrastination is a habit", do you agree with it? Have you noticed you/ your friend's bad habit of procrastination? How did you/ your friend deal with it?

Q2. Have you ever heard of "eat that frog" ? The idea behind “eat the frog first” is to complete the one thing on your to-do list as your first task of the day. What’s your frog? Share one example that you tackled the big stuff first during the past week, or the example you chose to put things off.

Q3. To above the question, think about "what is the itty-bittiest action that you/ your group members that you'd be willing to do?" (If your frog of that day was to go out for a jog, then the smallest action may be take the running shoes.)

Session II.

Q4. Do you recognize you as an effective person or just efficient? Do you use any technology tools to help you improve productivity? If yes, please share your tools with your members; if not, would you please share how do you manage your time?

Q5.Name some recent situations where you should have said “no”. How can you do a better job of figuring out in the future if something is a “high-value use” of your time or if you should say “no” ?

Q6. Imagine you are juggling 5 balls in life, which are Health, Work, Family, Friends, and Spirit, how do you prioritize it, and simply share why.

I ate the frog, but then those tadpoles started to grow tiny legs and arms, too.
In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.
