Play like a dragon for 2024.

Dear Yoyoers,
It’s an athletic year that Summer Olympics will be taken placed in Paris 2024 which coincides the active dragon year coming soon. It’s said that the hiking population has been increasing a lot for recent years. People are driving their affection exploring nature by hiking mountains more and more.

I am a new hiker that I tried to arrange regular hiking mountains since last summer. From 2.5 hours of hiking incrementally to 6 to 7 hours of trip hiking, while I not only enjoy approaching the nature encountering with diversified skies, terrains, trees, flowers, birds, insects, monkeys, squirrels, smelling of soils, and unknown hikers, but also it benefits for physical training, relieved mood, and the warmth from the friendly greetings of unknown hikers met.

In addition, the unpredictable climate can bring challenges to the hikers. Once I participated to a hiking team. It was a raining day, and when it’s time to meet participants at the meeting place, the cadres, mountain guide and echo guide” felt so anxious to see if the hikers will still come. The answer revealed that there were still some hikers participating at that activity, and they were highly delightful that day. They have reached to a different level of hiking pleasure that they aspired to practice how to guide a hiking team. From that activity, I tried to learn how the hikers use the hiking gears gradually. Besides, I found that the diversified climate stimulates people to design innovative hiking gears to satisfy a comfortable hiking trip to the hikers which forms a niche market highly profitable. There are plenty of hikers sharing their diary of hiking journey with the experiment on their newly hunting of the hiking gears. The diversified of weather provides the occasions for the hikers to explore what sorts of hiking gears can ensure a safe and comfortable hiking trip, and it’s an interesting processes that adds funs to the hiking trips as well.

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull body” is an idiom that reversely describes how the Yoyoers usually like to do. There are many Yoyo friends who love and proficient at outdoor activities such as hiking, long trips overseas, climbing, diving, biking, and so forth. This is an energetic dragon year for you in search of funs outdoors. Come to share with us your stories, thank you.

Here are two articles on the differences between hiking, trekking, mountaineering, and mountain climbing.

1. Hiking, trekking, mountaineering, and backpacking - what is the difference?
2. Hiking?Climbing? ── 「爬山」的英文到底怎麼說

According to them, what we most often do over weekends is either hiking or trekking; hiking takes a few hours up to a whole day, while trekking lasts several days.
