Dear all,

We're back for another adventure into the creativity world! This time trying our hand at using the all-popular ChatGPT for ideas and inspiration—and perhaps beating it at the creativity game?

Come and “play” our way out of boring conventions and the copy-and-paste mentality, and see if we can mix tech and human imagination to best effect.

📌 We'll explore some of the ideas from the links below. The views expressed are solely those of the respective authors:

(Dr Alex Young / video / 6 mins)

(The Economist / video / 8 mins)

📌 Since we're trying to "get help" from ChatGPT, I'd be remiss if I didn't just ask it the question outright.

So I feed it the prompt: "How can I use ChatGPT to be more creative?"

And this is what ChatGPT told me:

◈━◈━◈━◈━◈

"You can use ChatGPT to enhance your creativity in several ways:

1. Idea generation: Engage ChatGPT in conversations to brainstorm ideas or explore new concepts. Describe your creative project or problem, and ChatGPT can provide insights, suggestions, or alternative perspectives.

2. Writing assistance: Use ChatGPT to overcome writer's block or refine your writing. Share your draft or ideas with ChatGPT to receive feedback, prompts, or inspiration to enrich your creative work.

3. Exploring diverse topics: ChatGPT can introduce you to diverse topics, ideas, and perspectives. Ask questions, explore new subjects, or seek recommendations to expand your knowledge and spark creativity.

4. Collaboration: Collaborate with ChatGPT to co-create stories, poems, or artworks. Experiment with dialogue, plot twists, or character development to explore creative possibilities.

5. Problem-solving: Present creative challenges or obstacles to ChatGPT for fresh insights and solutions. Engage in interactive problem-solving sessions to overcome creative blocks and generate innovative ideas.

By leveraging ChatGPT's capabilities, you can enhance your creative process, explore new avenues of expression, and overcome obstacles to unleash your creative potential."

◈━◈━◈━◈━◈

So how would you "grade" its answer? Is it actually helpful?

📌 With the potential—and unstoppable—"helping hand" from AI, a major concern has risen: Will AI eventually kill human creativity by rendering the latter unnecessary, inferior or simply obsolete?

The latest ChatGPT announcement of their new product may "prompt" (pun intended! :ssmile: ) a new discussion on AI's impact on content creation. Check out the two videos showcased by ChatGPT:

What are your thoughts? Let's get our heads—and chatbots—together, and get our creative juices flowing!
