"She Works, He Doesn't" (5/18 Wed)

文章David_Liao » 週日 5月 15, 2005 11:52 pm

Hi guys,
This is David Liao. It’s my honor to be the host on 5/18 Wed. I am going to introduce you guys a phenomenon, which more and more women earn more than their men in advanced countries. In US, 30% wives, as Alpha-earners, earn 60 percent or more of the family income. Taiwan is likely to follow the same trend, which will topple the traditional relationship between men and women.

I think this woud be very interesting. Hope you guys would feel funny.

These articles below could be for your reference.

"She Works, He Doesn't"http://www.dreye.com.cn/epaper/files/epaper134.html
"25% 1980's women earn more"http://www.104.com.tw/cfdocs/2000/pressroom/104news931015.htm

1. Power and Money
Do you know any couple like people interviewed for the article "She Works, He doesn't"? Please list some examples how marriages are affected by the women earning more than their husband.

2. Identity
Discuss the advantages of being the gender you are, compared with being another, when you're working.

break

3. Conversion
Traditonally, Women are considerd to mary men with higher degree and more income. After reading these two articles, how do you think the requirements for both sexes choosing their spouse will change?

4. Adjustment
In the future, one of us may be impacted by the same events such as those in the articles. What will you prepare for it?

要找又老又快死又有錢的(單身)男人
其實不難
請到外國高級社區買一份地方報紙
然後查閱obituary 版
通常比較成功的人士才會上 obituary

Why "the dying old rich men" in the obit section? Aren't people whose names appear in this section already dead? I sure don't mean those who are survived.
If my guess is right, you referred to those new old-aged windows. Am I right?

I believe the obituary do contain some spousal information, dead, alive or sick. Gold digging is a skill that involves a great deals of social engineering. Sometimes the rewards do "justify" its rather shameless conduct. Obiturary is just an "door opener"
