1.為什麼不能用in而要用within，我一直搞不懂within怎麼用
2.所以Being a student，必須接現在式的子句才行囉，如果要用過去式，就沒有辦法用being來縮短句子嗎？
3.or和otherwise差別到底在那裡，中文都翻成「否則」「不然」，不知道要怎麼用。
4.因為有anything else所以才要用other than嗎？

1. 此處 within 有 before the end of 之意，in 有 in the course of 及 at the end of 之意．另外：It was within his grasp. 意指 "很近抓得到" 而 It was in his grasp. 卻有 "已經抓到了" 的意思．

2. (A)時態上應該要一致 (B)分詞構句的主詞應與主要子句相同：但 Being a student 的主詞是 we，與主要子句there were so many books的主詞不同，這才是不能縮短句子的原因．

3. or 為連接詞，otherwise為副詞．此句 Or 子句不宜單獨出現．

4. except 為 "除了xxx都包括在內"(全部中不包括xxx)；
other than 是 "除此之外還有..." (全部中還包括xxx)
