I am thinking about maybe we can have it as our outdoor meeting for that week. Since it is held all by English which could be a challendge for listenning, but it coule also be fun. Topic -《Idealism or Self-interest? Critical Views on International Volunteerism》
When helping needy people in developing countries, can young volunteers also be a burden to local communities? Is international volunteerism a middle class vanity or a kind of idealism needing to be fulfilled?
Sam Lai left Taiwan to work at a refugee camp on the border of Thailand and Burma. Siegfried from Switzerland quit his banking job and works with children in Thailand.
How do these two young men perceive the issues?
