Dowsing as a faith-based "指南針"

I think dowsing "works" similarly to Ouija board or 碟仙, except it can be operated by just one "player" Which is quite remarkable to say the least.
Coincidentally they both operate in " the state of unstable equilibrium" Since 天機 can not be revealed directly or easily, therefore both dowsing and 碟仙 seems to be some kind of loophole. I am just not sure if these loopholes are by design, by accident or just freak of nature?

Interestingly, Ouija board is a popular board game sold in the toy stores (Toy's R Us) right next to Monopoly (大富翁).
