Language lesson from Renowned Linguist Professor

文章 technobabel »

Recently our club president bought up and we explored the possible meaning of the phrase "hook up".
That got me thinking... How does the word "up" affect the verb preceding to it?
Metaphorically, this is a spatial question and that is not all.
To truly understand English, we need to do it from the ground up, and that calls for a high caliber expert.

Professor Steve Pinker’s academic specializations are visual cognition and language development in children, and he is most famous for popularizing the idea that language is an "instinct" or biological adaptation shaped by natural selection.

I am not abandoning Yoyo, I am just dancing slowly away from it.
