How do you say 任性 in English?

文章 Sherry Liao »

Here are what I found:

capricious: showing sudden changes in attitude or behaviour
Ex.: a movie star who was capricious and difficult to please

petulant: bad-tempered and unreasonable, especially because you cannot do or have what you want
Ex.: He behaved like a petulant child and refused to cooperate.

self-willed: to do what you want without caring about other people
Ex.: Even at four years old, Carol was stubborn and self-willed.

willful: determined to do what you want; not caring about what other people want.

perverse: showing deliberate determination to behave in a way that most people think is wrong, unacceptable or unreasonable
Ex.: Jack was being perverse and refusing to agree with anything we said.

headstrong: very determined to do what you want without listening to others
Ex.: She was a headstrong child, always getting into trouble.

unruly: difficult to control or manage
Ex.: an unruly child / unruly behavior

Any other suggestions?

By the way, does "capricious" have anything to do with "Capricorn"?
