Kat's Tips 7 - The Best of the Web (2) - NPR

文章 Kat C »

Due to my line of work, my typical daily consumption of news consists of minimum three hours of reading online from over 20 sources, including Chinese language outlets. With all that, I insist upon starting and ending my day with NPR.

The best that American journalism has to offer, National Public Radio is user-friendly, fair and balanced, extremely intelligent, and most important, fun!

For learning English it's also one of the best tools one can find for advanced learners. You don't have to stay with news; there are programs on cooking, music, books, comedy... and even cars!

Just so happens there is a fun article (and recording!) on NPR today, titled, "Being Bilingual May Boost Your Brain Power". Now just by reading and listening to this news story, we will have increased our brain power further! Check it out: http://www.npr.org/2011/04/04/135043787 ... er?sc=emaf

Kooper has recommended NPR's Hourly News Podcast. I'll encourage advanced learners to subscribe to any one of NPR's hundreds of FREE Podcast programs: http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast/podcast_ ... opic&id=-1

Listen everyday. Do it for a month and your listening will surely surprise you! (And your brain power will go up as well, so what's to lose?) :D
