When it comes to cars:
Make = a car manufacturer/company, a subsidiary company, or a brand used by a car maker (e.g., GM/General Motors is a make, but Cadillac, which is owned by GM, is also a make).
Model = a trade name for a group of cars for mostly marketing purposes (Each make offers many models).
Examples:
Make: Toyota
Model: Prius, Camry
Make: Chrysler
Model: 300, Sebring
Make: Dodge (by Chrysler)
Model: Avenger, Grand Caravan
Maybe I haven't owned a car for way too long...
