When I was making a math question for my nephew, I found it difficult to say "蟻后最後5年下的蛋是前5年的兩倍" in English. It should be an easy one, but I just didn't know how to put it. What say you?

Hi Rock, 前5年 seems redundant to me... I guess you just want the idea of 產量倍增 right? Besides we usually express 產量 in the way of xxx(數字) eggs per day, week, month, or year.
It seems weird to compare this five years to that five years.

BTW, when I tried to make the sentence, there are certain grammar rules that I have forgot and needed to loop them up. Here they are:

an amount of + uncountable noun + singular form of verb
a number of + countable noun + plural form of verb
a great deal of + uncountable noun + singular form of verb
a lot of + uncountable/countable noun
plenty of + uncountable/countable noun
a large quantity of uncountable/countable noun

Neverthe less, "queen ant" is more common than "ant queen". (Similarly, it is "queen bee" instaed of "bee queen".)
