有一位英文教授在黑板上寫下這一句話: “A woman without her man is nothing” 然後他要求學生自行標上標點符號。
結果班上所有的男學生皆把它標成: “A woman, without her man, is nothing.”
而班上所有的女學生都把它標成: “A woman: without her, man is nothing.”( 男人如果沒有了女人,男人一無是處。)

Though we had already understand how significant to use punctuation correctly, seldom we are able to write an error-free article, resulting from being lack of ability to control it precisely. Would you like to provide readers some examples routinely? I suppose that might be helpful.Dawn 寫:有一位英文教授在黑板上寫下這一句話: “A woman without her man is nothing” 然後他要求學生自行標上標點符號。

Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation 是一本有關標點符號的有趣的書 作者是Lynn Truss前BBC廣播節目Cutting a Dash的主持人(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eats,_Shoots_&_Leaves )
http://www.books.com.tw/exep/prod/books ... 0010279137
A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.
“Why?” asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.
“Well, I’m a panda,” he says at the door. “Look it up.”
The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. “Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.”
