今天在Voicetube看到Argo(亞果出任務)的對白如下:
長官:You don't have a better bad idea than this?
部屬: This is the best bad idea we have. Sir. by far.
對白翻譯把"by far" 翻成"到目前為止" 我覺得翻譯翻錯了。What do you guys think?

翻錯. by far: 顯然地 ; so far: 到目前為止,或是在一定程度範圍內。Meanwhile, it's a really cool way to say "a better bad idea" and "the best bad idea". Learning spoken English from movies is by far a good idea, just be careful not to get lost in translation.

this is an answer i got from the internet, thought i'm not sure if it's correct ha~
"by far" is used in comparisons to indicate a huge difference.
He is by far more athletic than his brother. (He is much more athletic.)
This is by far the best cheesecake I have ever tasted. (It is so much better than all the others.)
"so far" means "up until now" (desde ahora)
How many Europeans countries have you visited so far?
So far, we have not had any problems with the new boss.
