Here is my summary of the interview.

In 1975, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock of Air Supply first met in Australia. They were members of the cast of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Both of them had no experience in the show industry and thus didn’t fit in with other professional theater people. They ended up hanging out together most of the time. Not only did they find out they have much in common and form a friendship, they also realized that their voices match effortlessly. Shortly afterward they started to sing together, at places like coffee shops and universities in Australia. In1976, Air Supply released their first album, which was a success in Australia. In 1977, they were invited to open for Rod Steward during his tour of Australia and the United States. Though having made these breakthroughs, Graham and Russell still lived in straitened circumstances. Their turning point didn’t come until they were introduced to Clive Davis, the then-number-one record producer in the world. Thanks to Clive’s passion and drive, Air Supply became a household name in the early 1980s. During the period of time from 1980 to 1985, every of their albums hit the charts.

I think he is referring to AC/DC and Midnight Oil, two famous rock bands in Australia. He used them to describe how crazy they are at the concert.

He said you're gonna to be huge. I said "Really" and he said "Yeah". Then the song "Lost in Love" just come out, and it came in like 77 on the billboard for the first week, which is very unusual for an unknown band.

Air Supply received interview from ICRT for promoting their 34th anniversary concerts around the island. They recalled the first time they met each other by chance in May 1975. After having a talk, they found both of them had so much in common, especially the musical part. At that time, they had a chance to perform original songs together. With little effort of singing harmony, they received praise from audience. In 1976, they made first recording in Australia. In 1977, they went to USA and started to learn new things about music. In 1978 they went back to Australia and accumulated many live experiences at the night clubs before hitting worldwide markets. In the early 80s the band reached at the peak of their career. They attributed part of their success to their agent David whose predictive ability and passion driving Air Supply a great sensation globally. They analyzed why they are popular is probably because of the elements including great songs, guitar, voice and the singers. Even though, they still listen to many types of music, enjoy other entertainer’s works. No matter on or off the stage, their supporter’s passion gives them force and encouragement. Especially in the concert, they like to see everyone get involve in the atmosphere. When it comes to their impression on Taiwan, food and beautiful women attract them most.
