Sherry Liao 寫:
For me, this piece is the most difficult one of all the assignments this week. I revised it a little bit anyway. This is my version:

Portugal's Parliament has voted to allow same sex couples to marry. The country’s socialist prime minister describe the move as historic one that overturn long established discrimination. But the government sponsored legislation specifically bars same sex couple from adopting children. The socialist party and election manifest have included to legalize same sex marriage and it was government first political initiative in this parliament. Despite it's lacking an xxx trial majority in assembly passage

Despite it's lacking the entry majority in assembly passage.

I am gessing it's "entry".

Switzerland Federal Adiministrative court says the country financial regulator acted illegally when it turned over details of hundreds secret bank accounts to US investigators. Last Febulary, the regulators ordered Switz banking giant UBS to hand over information about 255 of US clients suspecting of taxivation. Mr. Swans reports from Geneva. The Swiz financial regulatosr says it consults the governemnt before handing over the files. It says it acted to save UBS from insolvency and criminal charges. But the Switz Federal Court Rules the regulators acted unilaterally and should not order UBS to hand over the files before and have received an offical request for assistance from Washington. In August, the governemnt gave into an intense pressure and agree to hand over details to the US revenue service of another 4 thousand and 5 hundred account holders suspecting of tax fraud.
