"You can't choose to believe in something that you don't believe in. The human psyche just doesn't work that way." these are two sentences i happened to read recently. guess it probably says it all about this topic, or i'm just being too sceptical.
i might be a cynic and, a sceptic as well but, i'm definitely not a bad person!!

1. How do we make the argument for same sex marriage by connecting the value of patriotism? (As said in the video)
It beats me!

2. Core values for Blue (藍營)

Pro-unification
China friendly
Chinese culture
Support nuclear power
Patriotism for ROC
Family value? ( I don't think this counts.)

3. Core values for Green(綠營)

Pro-independence
Anti-China
Sovereignty
Taiwanese culture
Refuse nuclear power
Same sex marriage? (I don't think this counts)

So, how do both parties make political conversations by using other party's core values? I think it is mission impossible. Haha......

I like the speech for holding a constructive attitude toward the problem of a growing polarized country. It’s a well saying by the speaker that we should be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Coming to terms with the reality that political polarization is here to stay in Taiwan and just continuing business as usual, or, taking a more aggressive approach trying to eradicate the other side has been proved to bring us nowhere for the last few decades. Maybe we should leverage these study findings and take a crack at it in the new way.
