Session 1
1. How do you usually apologize to someone? What’s the proper way to say sorry?
2. Why do some people avoid saying “I am sorry”? Why do some apologies not work?
3. Why do you apologize? Do you agree that sometimes apologizing doesn't mean you are wrong and the other is right? It may mean you value your relationship more than your ego or you want turn big problems into minor ones? Please share with us some examples!
4. Would you please share with us some examples that you voluntarily or compulsory said something which contradicts your inner thoughts or values? Do you, currently, still think it was a wise way to do so?
Session 2
1. Judgment No. 2 of Constitutional Court revealed that it's unconstitutional to request defendant who defames another person to make apologies publicly as it infringes the defendant’s freedom of speech and thought. Do you support this decision? Do you support that the defamer's freedom of speech in general and their right not to speak in particular should be protected equally the same as us?
2. Do you think your reputation can be rebuilt after tarnished by others? For example, your relatives or colleagues spread rumors that you stole money or borrowed money without return, sexually harassed others or have an unethical relationship with a married man/woman. If not, what would you do? If yes, what’s the best way to rehabilitate your reputation?
3. If your reputation is ruined by someone in media, such as TV programs, FB, IG, Line group, do you think requesting the wrongdoer to make apologies at the media platforms would cause self-humiliation or human dignity degradation? Moreover, whether the apology is sincere or not important to you?
4. Do you think that to restore your reputation, posting court’s decision has the same effect as posting the wrongdoer’s apology?

Important Notes:
1. We advise participants to print out the discussion questions and bring them to the meeting for reference. As for the supporting articles, feel free to print them out, as well, according to your preference.
2. We suggest that participants read the articles and think about the questions in advance.
3. Newcomers should prepare a two-to-three minute self-introduction in English to deliver when called upon by the host before the start of the discussion. The host may also ask you to give brief feedback about the meeting at the conclusion of the meeting.
4. We conduct the entire meeting in English. All participants should have at least moderate English-conversation skills and be able to articulate your ideas for each discussion question.
5. We welcome newcomers and other guests to attend the meetings and join the discussion freely twice (including on-site and online meetings). After that, we hope you will consider becoming a YoYo English Club member. We charge a NT$1,500 (NT$1,000 for students) lifetime membership fee.
