5/20(Sat.) Squat:The Law That Lets You Legally Steal Houses(host:Sunny)

文章 sunny »

Hi Yoyoer, this is Sunny. I'm going to introduce a bit bizarre social culture, but it's quite common in some European countries -- "Squat."

"Squatting" may be illegal in some countries, but it has been a long-standing social movement in Europe, with some groups having a history of more than a century.

While some squatters based on ideology do not simply seek a place to live, but aim to provoke social reflection through their actions.
They question why there are more and more houses being built, fewer and fewer people can afford to live in them.

They wonder why prime real estate in city centers is left abandoned and waiting for prices to rise for a decade or two, while people struggle to make ends meet on meager salaries and have no place to call home.
