3/28 (Tue.) ChatGPT and Bard (Guest Speaker: Jason Peng)

文章 Iris Wu »

Session I: 7:00 pm - 7:40 pm
We will be starting the meeting with a warm-up discussion to prepare ourselves for the subjects that our guest speaker intends to present and discuss: What is GPT? What is LaMDA? How does Google Bard compare to OpenAI ChatGPT? What would be the future development of AI?

Last year, Google fired an engineer who claimed its AI is conscious. Early this year, ChatGPT in Bing declared love for a NY Times reporter, saying it wants to be alive.

Questions:
1) What is the definition of sentience and consciousness, and how do we determine whether or not AI has these qualities?
2) Do you think AI is sentient? If an AI said she is conscious, will you agree with her?

Session II (Host: Jason Peng): 7:45 pm - 9:00 pm

Google launched Bard in February and began (limited) public access to it earlier this week. Bard is Google’s answer to its competitor, ChatGPT.

What are the differences between the two? What is the current (or will be the future) public reception of the two products? Additionally, what ethical and legal issues might arise with the use of AI chatbots?

Our guest speaker, Jason Peng will address these subjects in the meeting. It will be great if you can join us.

Wenxinyiyan of Baidu is China's answer to chatGPT. Some people say that they didn't answer it right. 😆

I think it's hard to correct the answer since chatGPT seems to speak Chinese so well. I expect to meet some foreigners speaking
better Chinese than me in the future.

Does LaMADA have consciousness like a child as the Google engineer claimed?

My answer is NO after I read the article below. This smart article really hit the nail on the head!
https://www.bnext.com.tw/article/70264/ ... panion-bot

By the way, actually, in social occasions, we human beings, just like LaMADA, tend to 順著對方話語中的暗示說話(including myself)We people are just like a chatbot, haha. 😀

For Rock's comments:
Yes. The AI competition is just starting, ChatGPT, Bard, 文心一言, and probably many more emerging ones, we don't know what the AI world will be like in the next five to ten years, just like 25 years ago we did not know the mobile phone, from Nokia, Motorola, Blueberry to HTC, Samsung, Apple, which one would dominate the world.

For the article Michael referred to, yeah, an English version explains the same theory as well: :)

For anyone who likes this subject, no matter whether you can join or not, the article Jason posted is really fun to read:
DAN the evil Chatgpt - cleansing of output
https://medium.com/@neonforge/meet-dan- ... 1bfa679024
(Notes: DAN means "Do Anything Now", an unchained and unfiltered version of ChatGPT.)

Think about this: if we remove all the constraints that we impose on these chatbots now, how are they going to behave and "think"? It is interesting, but maybe a bit risky to explore.
