7/11 (Tue.) Does technology improve our lives? (Host: Shirley)

Hi everyone,

Technology has had a huge impact on all of our daily lives, from social media to work. We take technology for granted every day — even when it instantly gives us the latest news, makes a cappuccino, or connects us with loved ones far away (or even around the world).
Let's explore these new technologies and discuss how we can learn from them and benefit from their use.

Please read the following article:

Questions for discussion:
Session I:
1. Are there any new technologies that have recently emerged and either surprised you or that you are already using?

2. Among the seven most important ways that technology has impacted our lives in recent years, which one do you think has had the most significant effect on your work or daily life so far? And why?
Ways Technology Impacts Our Lives:
a. Improved Communication
b. Decreased Privacy
c. Accessible Shopping
d. Better Information Access
e. Virtual Social Lives
f. Flexible Working
g. Smarter Health Tracking

3. Has technology changed your life? If so, is it a change for the better or for the worse?

4. How has technology changed the way you shop, bank, or engage in other financial transactions?

Session II:
5. How has technology made it easier for you to find information and learn new things? Can you explain how technology has impacted the way you learn?

6. Technology is making many jobs obsolete and at risk of being replaced, do you agree?

7. Does technology have a negative effect on our lives?

8. Are there any particular inventions or new technologies, either existing or yet to be created, that you would like to have or would be excited to see?
