6/1 (Sat.) MBTI Personality Test / Relationship Killer (Host: Andy)

文章 Andy »

Hello! I am Andy. I will be hosting on June 1st, marking my 20th time as a host. I hope that you will thoroughly enjoy the two topics I have prepared for our discussion. :D

In our first session, we will explore the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a self-report questionnaire that aims to categorize different psychological types, commonly known as personality types. It is important to note that the MBTI is considered pseudoscientific and has its limitations.

In our second session, we will dive into a thought-provoking topic: the gradual drift experienced by couples in relationships. The most overlooked killers that we will discuss include neglecting personal time, assuming partners know everything about each other, disregarding minor annoyances, relying on special occasions to express love, and fostering a negative outlook. Together, we will work towards combating these harmful relationship killers and cultivating healthier dynamics.

Session I: MBTI Personality Test
To enhance our discussion, I kindly request that you take the test in advance. It only requires 5-10 minutes to complete, and you have the option to choose between the Traditional Chinese or English versions of the test. This will enable us to have a more informed and productive conversation. It is crucial to understand that every personality type has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. It is erroneous to claim that one type is superior or ideal compared to others.

PLEASE DO THE TEST IN ADVANCE (5-10 minutes)
Traditional Chinese Version:https://www.16personalities.com/tw
English Version:https://www.16personalities.com/

[Questions]
1. What is your MBTI type, if you have taken the test?
2. In your opinion, do you believe that the MBTI (or other personality test) accurately identifies your personality? Why or why not?
3. Can the MBTI (or other personality test) be used for us to predict career success or compatibility in relationships? To what extent is it applicable? Are there any potential dangers in using the MBTI (or other personality test) to make judgments or label individuals?
4. Can personalities change over time, or are they considered permanent? Is it possible for someone's personality type to change as they grow and develop, and what factors might contribute to such changes?
5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a rare personality type compared to a common personality type?

Introduction to 16 MBTI Personality Types:
Traditional Chinese Version:https://www.16personalities.com/tw/%E6% ... E%E5%9E%8B
English Version:https://www.16personalities.com/personality-types

The MBTI assesses four categories, each with two opposing traits:
Introversion / Extraversion
-This category identifies how individuals prefer to direct and receive energy.
Sensing / Intuition
-This category explores an individual's preferred method of gathering data and the type of information they trust and value.
Thinking / Feeling
-This category examines the decision-making process an individual relies on.
Judging / Perceiving
-This category reflects how individuals navigate and approach life.

https://www.self.com/story/the-5-most-o ... o-fix-them

If you wonder what causes people to break up, you might say money, lying, or cheating. And that is true. But, like death by a thousand paper cuts, there are even more insidious everyday habits that kill relationships too.

Here are the five most overlooked relationship killers and solutions to those bad habits.
1. Skipping me-time.
2. Assuming you know each other.
3. Staying mum about "minor" annoyances.
4. Waiting for special occasions to express love.
5. Seeing the glass half-empty.

Why do couples gradually drift apart in the end? [3m23s]

2. In your opinion, how much space is healthy? What are the potential drawbacks or risks associated with too much space or excessive separation in a relationship?
3. Assuming that we know everything about our partners and ceasing to ask questions, how does the loss of curiosity in long-term relationships affect the satisfaction levels of couples?
4. What are effective ways to demonstrate love and appreciation to a partner on a day-to-day basis?
