We’re delighted to invite Stephen Charles as our guest this time. Last year, he also shared the topic What is Meditation at our yoyo gathering. This time, the event will include a brief meditation experience and a discussion from a Buddhist perspective on questions like: What is "self-cherishing"? How does it affect our daily lives? What is the nature of our relationship with others? Can we truly live "independently and autonomously"? Or are humans destined to rely on the kindness and generosity of others throughout their lives?

Warm-up questions:
Q1. What does religion mean to you? Nowadays people are puting more faith on science than religion, what do you think?
Q2. We can observe similar ideas appear both on psychological theory and Buddhist scriptures. Do you see them equally or you prefer one of them? why?
Q3. Most people think naturally "I" am the most important one than anyone else. Does it apply in all cases? What kind of situation you think other are more important then you? Please share one example.
Q4. If so on previous question, what kind of benefit you may get from the situation?
Q5. We can easily buy what we want with money, so money is eveything. People depend on momey to survive without help from others. Do you agree or disagree? why?
Q6. Can we truly live "independently and autonomously" without other's help? execpt for the people you are close to, do you think people also get help from strangers? To what extent?
