Why am I so sad about seeing a robot get beaten up?

I watched a video showing three men kick, hit, then topple the poor humanoid. All I wanted to do was take the poor thing by the hand and lead it to a better life...

E-learning and the Ethics of Robot Bullying
https://trilateralresearch.com/emerging ... t-bullying
Session One
1. Do you feel bad when you see a humanoid robot is being bullied? Why or why not? But if the robot is not in a human form, would you feel the same?
2. Why do some people bully robots? Is it ok if a guy buys a humanoid robot and bullies it, or even cruelly "kills" it?
3. Do you think there will be laws regulating human-robot interaction so there will be no robot cruelty?
Session Two
Social norms (hopefully) force us to interact politely with a human and, at its simplest, to pay attention. Whereas when faced with something electronic, we are more tempted to become that person who steps in front of driverless cars or tries to trip up robots.
4. Do you say "thank you", "please" or "sorry" to chatGPT when you talk to it? Is it better that humans talk to AI politely? Why?
5. What would you do if you were there seeing that bunch of kids teasing the poor robot? Would you try to stop them, ignore them, or join them?
6. Is it ok for you if you see an old man kissing a young-looking female robot in public? Would there be human-robot relationships in the future? Should we have laws regulating them?
