Dear all,

Halloween's right around the corner—and maybe something else is too?

Just like the Lunar "Ghost Month," it's a great time to explore all our supernatural ideas and the possible psychology behind them.

Ghosts and monsters. Vampires and Zombies. Every culture has its enduring tales of scares. What do they say about our deepest fears? Bring a haunting story, or your recommended horror film trailer link to share.

We'll also do a mini-party while at it—bring food and drinks to enjoy with our camera on! 🍷

📌 We'll explore some of the ideas from the links below. The views expressed are solely those of the respective authors:

📌 What do big storytellers have to say about scary things?
Here are some quotes to ponder on:

🔹 “In one aspect, yes, I believe in ghosts, but we create them. We haunt ourselves.”
― Laurie Halse Anderson, Wintergirls

🔹 “Now I know what a ghost is. Unfinished business, that's what.”
― Salman Rushdie, The Satanic Verses

🔹 "Ghosts are never just ghosts; they provide us with an insight into what haunts our culture."
― ANDREW SMITH, attributed, Popular Ghosts: The Haunted Spaces of Everyday Culture

🔹 “Behind every man now alive stand 30 ghosts, for that is the ratio by which the dead outnumber the living."
― ARTHUR C. CLARKE, 2001: A Space Odyssey

🔹 "Psychoanalysis has taught that the dead -- a dead parent, for example -- can be more alive for us, more powerful, more scary, than the living. It is the question of ghosts."
― JACQUES DERRIDA, New York Times Magazine, Jan. 23, 1994

So ANY monsters for you? 👹 Happy Halloween! 🎃
