Some people can speak on stage without breaking a sweat. Others just seem to shine naturally in a crowd. We often assume confidence is a gift—either you have it or you don’t. But is that really true?
Psychologists say confidence is more like a muscle: the more you use it, the stronger it gets. It can grow from small moments—raising your hand to ask a question, successfully explaining your idea, making eye contact, or simply saying, “I can give it a try.” These small acts quietly build up your self-belief over time.
That said, today’s social media culture often makes us feel insecure. It’s easy to compare ourselves to others and feel like we’re not good enough. Building healthy, lasting confidence can be more complicated than it seems.
But here’s the good news—you don’t need to start confident. You just need to start practicing confidence. That’s already a big step forward.
Session 1
Q1. Do you think confidence is something you're born with, or something you can develop? Why?
Q2. Can you share a time when you felt really confident? What helped you feel that way?
Q3. Was there a time you felt very insecure? How did you deal with it?
Q4. Who is someone you think is very confident? What qualities do they have that you admire?
Session 2
Q5. Do you think "faking confidence" can work? Have you tried it?
Q6. Which do you think has the biggest impact on confidence—appearance, ability, or experience?
Q7. How would you encourage a friend who feels they lack confidence?
Q8. What's the difference between being confident and being arrogant?
